Amelia Island Holiday

We depart Jacksonville this morning for the short drive to Amelia Island, our destination for the next three days. Our holiday begins with lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Cafe 1928, for its Cuban dishes and you must try the key lime pie.

This morning offers up a walking tour of historic and Fernandina Beach with a sightseeing tour of Amelia Island after lunch. We will tour the entire island seeing beautiful beaches, marinas and lighthouses.

Today is the ultimate on any holiday, an entire free day to enjoy as you like. Options include deep sea fishing, golf, biking, wine tasting or a downtown food tour which is always a huge hit.

Departing after breakfast, we have a short drive south to Port Canaveral where the Star Princess awaits. This new ship has won great acclaim already, most especially for 'The Sphere' and the glass enclosed Piazza.

ON the south side of Grand Bahama Island, Celebration Key has so much to offer. Consisting of five portals, including an adults-only area, there is something to do for everyone.

Tucked on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, Amber Cove, named for the translucent gemstone found on its shores, sits just seven miles from the town Puerto Plata, a cinematic locale used as the backdrop for the first Jurassic Park film. Just steps from the dock take in the sparkling beach, which offers a plethora of water activities, and the serene, natural beauty from the comfort of a private bungalow.

The oldest city under the American flag, San Juan vibrates to a lively salsa beat. There's an unmistakable zest in the air here.

Grand Turk, the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands, is a small island bursting with turn-of-the-century Caribbean charm, retaining the look and feel of the Caribbean 40 years ago. Grand Turk was founded by Bermudan salt rakers some three centuries ago and its Bermudan British-colonial architecture surrounded by colorful local dwellings make the island a treasure to visit.
