Day by day
Day 1

Empire Builder to Whitefish, Montana

Depart Portland, Seattle or Midwest points on the Empire Builder, bound for Montana.

Day 2

Glacier National Park

Awaken to mountain silhouettes and big Montana skies as we arrive in Whitefish. A short transfer brings us to our hotel.

Day 3

Glacier National Park

Today delivers classic grandeur. Explore the valleys and towering peaks of the Many Glacier area, —one of the park’s most dramatic settings.

Day 4

Glacier National Park

A spellbinding day lies ahead. We travel the Going-to-the-Sun Road aboard red jammer buses, climbing high along sheer cliffs and alpine vistas.

Day 5

Spokane, Washington

This morning we set out on a westward drive, passing mountain valleys and forested lakes on our way to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho—one of the prettiest small cities in the Rockies. Continue to Spokane, where the afternoon is yours to explore.

Day 6

Board Eurodam

A beautiful drive carries us across Washington to Seattle’s waterfront, where Holland America’s Eurodam awaits. Enjoy a special lunch en route before boarding your ship.

Day 7

At Sea in the Inside Passage

Time at sea in the Inside Passage.

Day 8

Stephen’s Passage & Juneau

Stephens Passage is the best shortcut in the world, a straight line through Southeast Alaska in a landscape that comes with very few straight lines. It’s not only people and ships that use the passage: Concentrated in and around its waters is a greatest hits of Alaskan wildlife, from humpback whales, the whoosh of their breath loud enough to be heard almost a kilometer away, to giant sea lions and their very distinctive smell—well, okay, call it a stink—that can carry just as far.

Day 9

Cruising Glacier Bay National Park

Few places on Earth rival Glacier Bay for sheer scale and majesty. Sail past towering mountain ranges that soar to 15,000 feet, their massive snowfields feeding more than a thousand glaciers.

Day 10

Sitka, Alaska

Call at Sitka, Alaska, on Baranof Island.

Day 11

Ketchikan, Alaska

Welcome to Ketchikan—Alaska’s “First City” and one of its most colorful. Cradled between mountains and sea, the town buzzes with floatplanes, fishing boats, and waterfront life.

Day 12

Victoria, British Columbia

Arrive in Victoria, a delightful blend of Old World elegance and Pacific Northwest beauty. Stroll the Inner Harbour, or enjoy a drink at the Empress Hotel.

Day 13

Seattle, Washington

This morning we return to Seattle, bidding farewell to newfound friends and a journey filled with moments.
